Shivaratri: During the Hindu festival of Falgun month, on the 4th night of the new moon, the festival of Mahashivaratri is celebrated. Sanskrit word, Krishna Paksha means the period of the moon or black fortnight and phalgun corresponds with the month of March - March in the English calendar.
